When small children are asked about their dreams, responses are based on what the child believes to be something that will come true. They are so sure of their dreams and belief in those dreams. So what happens as we get older and allow our dreams to slip through our fingers?
There are many different schools of thought on this subject, but I believe in the answer that states as children grow up they are bombarded by naysayers, people (mostly adults) who tell them they can't have their dreams and that real life is hard and just have to deal with the hand that life gives you.
I've been plagued by negative people in my life and let me tell you, it's not easy to keep up a belief in yourself and your dreams when there are so many people around you who want to knock you down. It's unfortunate, but it's true. Most people, not all, are fixated with not wanting someone to succeed. So, how do you rise above all that silly nonsense and reach the highest mountain (so to speak) and live your dream? Heck, others have done it, so why not you!
THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT - WHAT IS YOUR DREAM?
The best way to begin is to take some time out of your busy day and contemplate what you truly want. And what is so important is that it's what you want - not what your mother, your wife, your friend, your sister, whoever wants.
WRITE DOWN YOUR DREAMS IN A TABLET
After you've gotten a clear picture of what it is you want, the next step is to write it down. But here's the clincher: you need to write it down where a) you can easily find it later on and b) you wrote it in some sort of tablet. Take it from my experience, when you write on sheets of paper, it's very easy to put them somewhere and they get mixed up with something else. A tablet is neat and organized place to put in your thoughts, ideas, dreams, or just about anything else you want to write about.
READ WHAT YOU WROTE EVERYDAY
Since I have so much experience with this, I can tell you, it is so easy to get distracted or busy doing whatever else and not take this step. By looking at your dreams each day, it puts that in your mind and you will subconsciously move forward to that goal.
FIND SOMETHING THAT REMINDS OF YOUR DREAM
I watched a television program where a woman wore a pendent of the Eiffel Tower. Her reasoning was that she dreamt of visiting Paris one day and wearing that necklace made her think about it everday. Well, that woman actually got a free trip to Paris as a result of being on the television show! How's that for wishful thinking. I believe having the pendent gave her a daily reminder of her dream. It could be anything from a rock symbolizing wanting to be a singer in a rock band, to a favorite pen that makes you think of the company you want to get a job at. You get the picture.
DO ACTION
I know we're heard it so many times that you have to take action in order to achieve any kind of success and this is true. Sitting around wishing amounts to nothing.
What Action Does:
1. It helps you focus on the end results you want to achieve.
2. It keeps you in a good state of mind knowing you are doing something to get closer to your dream.
3. It can keep up your belief that anything is possible because you build upon baby step successes.
4. It keeps your mind challenged and you push foward instead of feeling stuck in a rut.
"Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps, if you are not willing to move your feet."

DARE TO LET GO
I think this is the most difficult part of the journey to attain your dreams. Letting go means you have to have belief in a higher power that will guide you to the people, places and actions to help you make your dreams come true. It's hard to have the amount of belief but you have to. When you're in a relaxed state of mind that when ideas come. Being a ball of stress, worrying about how you are going to get your dreams to come true will only make more stress.
So, take a deep breath, plant your feet firmly on the ground and sit upright. With each breath think, I believe, with every exhale think my dream will come true. This action will help you to not only relax your mind and body, but actually bring you closer to attaining your dreams.
So happy dreaming - and remember no dream is too big to come true.

Focus
These are lyrics from an original song I wrote with my Fiance. And it's so true - focus becomes reality.
You can listen to the song at www.myspace.com/sugarlimetwist
Focus
by Jussme and Marty
Sailing down a one-way street, keeps from falling on your feet.
Dreams of nothing challenge fate - I can't believe that lie in grace.
Open doorways, the door is locked, ring the bell and watch the clock,
someone's there inside the heat, I felt the presence of my defeat.
CHORUS
Focus becomes reality
Already know the answers
Just be silent and you will hear...
Direct yourself onto a map, one that takes you where it's at,
think the future it comes to be, your focus becomes reality.
Mental image, dream it up, the better heart, the deeper trust
when you know it in your mind, it comes to be, you're no more blind.
REPEAT CHORUS
BRIDGE:
Run, don't walk, lips sealed don't talk
memories can never find you - if you don't remember - oh no, oh no no no
Crafty beggar takes the thief, he learns to choose his own belief,
morals gone, there's no one there, empty shell no tears of care;
A dreamer's wish all wither on, something new to sing the song,
days keep moving, time is gone, so keep on trying - being so strong.
REPEAT CHORUS

Time Travels Too Quick
It's been almost a year since I last posted anything. I've gotten sidetracked by other things going on in my life.
Well, I'm back and I need to focus on what is important.
Enjoy your life - it comes only once.

Be Who You Say You Are...
And say what you feel...
because those that matter don't mind...
and those that mind don't matter!
because those that matter don't mind...
and those that mind don't matter!
Negativity: A Battle You Can Win!
Many of us go through life as if on autopilot, wandering aimlessly around life’s challenges and expectations. When things don’t go our way, and negative situations occur, we often do the blame game, and forget that we do have control over our thoughts and actions.
Negativity is a learned thought process, usually passed down from generation to generation. However, this doesn’t mean that you have to continue to live with negative thoughts and allow them to run your life. Negativity really does play a role in one’s health, happiness, relationships, success, peace of mind, financial state, and overall satisfaction with life.
The easiest way to begin to overcome negativity in your life is to recognize your thoughts at all times. You have to be conscious of what you say to yourself (in your head), how you speak to others, and what kinds of people you surround yourself with. Once you learn to be in tune to your thoughts and those around you, you can easily distinguish negative thoughts from positive ones – and that’s when change begins.
Each time you catch yourself thinking or hearing a negative thought, change it to a positive one. Living in the present moment allows you to be in control over your negativity. You are aware of your thoughts and can make changes to become a positive person. Over time you will see remarkable results.
Here are some examples to change your negativity for good:
1. When you wake up in the morning, think to yourself (or say it out loud), no matter how you are really feeling, “I feel great!” And do not allow your thoughts to wander down the road of “Really my back aches, my feet hurt and I’m so tired.” Those are all negative thoughts! This simple thought of “I feel great” creates a ripple effect for the rest of your day.
2. As you get ready for your day, constantly think positive thoughts, such as “I have all the time in the world,” “I’m going to have a fantastic day,” “Things are going to go my way today,” and “I’m so grateful to be alive and well today.”
3. When you go to work and you run into the negativity gang who bombards you with, “Today sucks,” “I’m so tired,” “I can’t believe I’m here.” You would think your best defense is to walk away and steer clear of those people, but that will only bring on more negativity. The best method to deal with the negativity gang is to have quick comebacks that will diffuse their negativity. Comments like “Today is great – I feel lucky to be here,” and “I’m having a great day!” will have an enormous impact on your interaction with the gang. How so? Well, you will see a change in them. They won’t want to air their negativity around you any longer because there will be no effect on you.
Negative people prey on other negative people to keep the ball rolling. If you don’t play the game, the ball stays with them. You don’t want to challenge them by saying “Why do you have to be so negative?” Because that will unearth their defense mechanisms and they will try even harder to get you to succumb to their negativity.
4. Outside of work: it’s important to recognize how you used to think about things and how you interacted with your friends, family and anyone else. When a thought comes into your mind, change it to a positive.
Negative Thinking: My dog so rotten, he eats my shoes and messes up the house.
Positive Thinking: I love my dog and I can train him(her) to behave the appropriate way.
Negative Thinking: My daughter is so mean to me. She doesn’t want to help me and she’s always so disrespectful.
Positive Thinking: My daughter is important to me. I will be respectful to her and talk to her about the best method to getting her help. And no matter what she says or does, I will show her how much I love her.
Negative Thinking: Those trash guys always make such a mess on my sidewalk. I can’t stand them!
Positive Thinking: I’m going to talk to the trash guys and let them know that I would like them to be more careful when picking up the trash. If I don’t get any results, I’ll go to their supervisor.
What each of the examples above show is that with positive thinking a change begins because it brings about some sort of action. When we think negative, we are at a standstill with our thoughts and this creates a continuous loop of negativity. However, when you shift your thoughts to positive thinking, you begin to notice that you have control over your life and can do something to change the situation to make it better.
Remember, negativity is a just a thought. It’s not real. It doesn’t have any power: we give it the power when we act upon a negative thought. And when we act upon a negative thought, we create a negative situation. So, reverse the roles! Think positive and see positive situations emerge. But you have to keep at it and continually fight the negativity because it’s a battle you can win!

Information Highway Pit Stop
Good day to all...
If the Internet is the place to find any kind of information, then I look at this blog as a stop along the way that may offer useful knowledge to somebody.
My goal is simple: write what I know and have learned so that someone else knows it too.
I am sort of an altruist when it comes to information. I am not afraid to admit that I am a knowledge sponge - particularly knowledge that can help people live better lives, understand human nature better and rest easy at night with more peace and less stress. After all, we're only on this earth for a short while. Why not make the most of everyday? Why not?
I sincerely hope that something written here might give someone a tip, knowledge, a key, a link, or maybe just a way towards a better today and many tomorrows.
Cheers!
