When small children are asked about their dreams, responses are based on what the child believes to be something that will come true. They are so sure of their dreams and belief in those dreams. So what happens as we get older and allow our dreams to slip through our fingers?
There are many different schools of thought on this subject, but I believe in the answer that states as children grow up they are bombarded by naysayers, people (mostly adults) who tell them they can't have their dreams and that real life is hard and just have to deal with the hand that life gives you.
I've been plagued by negative people in my life and let me tell you, it's not easy to keep up a belief in yourself and your dreams when there are so many people around you who want to knock you down. It's unfortunate, but it's true. Most people, not all, are fixated with not wanting someone to succeed. So, how do you rise above all that silly nonsense and reach the highest mountain (so to speak) and live your dream? Heck, others have done it, so why not you!
THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT - WHAT IS YOUR DREAM?
The best way to begin is to take some time out of your busy day and contemplate what you truly want. And what is so important is that it's what you want - not what your mother, your wife, your friend, your sister, whoever wants.
WRITE DOWN YOUR DREAMS IN A TABLET
After you've gotten a clear picture of what it is you want, the next step is to write it down. But here's the clincher: you need to write it down where a) you can easily find it later on and b) you wrote it in some sort of tablet. Take it from my experience, when you write on sheets of paper, it's very easy to put them somewhere and they get mixed up with something else. A tablet is neat and organized place to put in your thoughts, ideas, dreams, or just about anything else you want to write about.
READ WHAT YOU WROTE EVERYDAY
Since I have so much experience with this, I can tell you, it is so easy to get distracted or busy doing whatever else and not take this step. By looking at your dreams each day, it puts that in your mind and you will subconsciously move forward to that goal.
FIND SOMETHING THAT REMINDS OF YOUR DREAM
I watched a television program where a woman wore a pendent of the Eiffel Tower. Her reasoning was that she dreamt of visiting Paris one day and wearing that necklace made her think about it everday. Well, that woman actually got a free trip to Paris as a result of being on the television show! How's that for wishful thinking. I believe having the pendent gave her a daily reminder of her dream. It could be anything from a rock symbolizing wanting to be a singer in a rock band, to a favorite pen that makes you think of the company you want to get a job at. You get the picture.
DO ACTION
I know we're heard it so many times that you have to take action in order to achieve any kind of success and this is true. Sitting around wishing amounts to nothing.
What Action Does:
1. It helps you focus on the end results you want to achieve.
2. It keeps you in a good state of mind knowing you are doing something to get closer to your dream.
3. It can keep up your belief that anything is possible because you build upon baby step successes.
4. It keeps your mind challenged and you push foward instead of feeling stuck in a rut.

DARE TO LET GO
I think this is the most difficult part of the journey to attain your dreams. Letting go means you have to have belief in a higher power that will guide you to the people, places and actions to help you make your dreams come true. It's hard to have the amount of belief but you have to. When you're in a relaxed state of mind that when ideas come. Being a ball of stress, worrying about how you are going to get your dreams to come true will only make more stress.
So, take a deep breath, plant your feet firmly on the ground and sit upright. With each breath think, I believe, with every exhale think my dream will come true. This action will help you to not only relax your mind and body, but actually bring you closer to attaining your dreams.
So happy dreaming - and remember no dream is too big to come true.
